My four years as a senior adviser and project manager for the deafblind services at the Nordic Welfare Centre are soon coming to an end. The time has come for me to return to my home country and continue my work there.
It has been four rewarding years filled with challenges, highs, exciting projects and encounters with people who have meant a great deal to me and, not least, to the work we do across the region.
Everything you have contributed over these years has paved the way for the development of the field, and I hope this trend continues well into the future.
However, to make that happen, we need someone to whom I can pass the baton. SO: Are you interested in working with deafblindness in a Nordic context? In an environment with many wonderful colleagues, both internally and externally? A role based in central Stockholm? Then I recommend that you read the advert and send us your application as soon as possible.
We look forward to reading your application!

Amidst all this, we must not forget the Nordic Conference on Deafblindness, which is to be held in Copenhagen on 15–17 September.
The Scientific Committee has worked tirelessly on the event, acting as a hub throughout the process – from criteria for abstracts to programme planning and all the details one usually doesn’t realise are necessary to organise a conference. So, on my behalf, a huge thank you for the work you have done, both for us here at the Nordic Welfare Centre and, not least, for the deafblind community in the Nordic region!
And likewise, to the planning committee, who have managed the process superbly throughout! A thousand thanks to you too!
If you haven’t registered for the conference yet, we recommend that you do so now. And we look forward to seeing you all at Scandic Sluseholmen in September!
