JOIN OUR FOCUS GROUP: Are you a highly educated migrant from outside the EU living in the Nordics?
We would like to hear about your experiences of finding work and building a career in the Nordic countries. We are particularly interested in hearing from people aged 25 and over who arrived in the Nordics without a job, for example through family reunification or as asylum seekers.
The discussions will help increase understanding of the experiences of highly educated migrants and identify ways to improve support for their labour market integration.
Participation includes:
A 90-minute online group discussion in English or Swedish.
Participation is voluntary, and all information will be treated confidentially.
The study is conducted in accordance with ethical research guidelines.
The project is a collaboration between the Nordic Welfare Centre and Nordregio and is co-funded by the European Union.
WEBINAR: How can language learning at work and inclusive recruitment strengthen Nordic workplaces?
28 October, 13:00 CET
Join
this webinar to discuss how language support can help address skills shortages
and strengthen inclusion through findings from a new comparative Nordic study
and practical workplace cases. The webinar is a collaboration
between the Nordic Council of Ministers, the Nordic Network for Lifelong
Learning, Danish Technological Institute and ideas2evidence.
Many Nordic regions face labour shortages while highly skilled migrants already living in the regions remain underemployed. The webinar explores how regions can better use existing migrant skills to combat labour shortages. The findings are based on data, migrant perspectives and regional examples. The event, organised by Nordregio and the Nordic Welfare Centre, focuses the discussion on labour market inclusion, employers and untapped regional potential.

RECENT NORDIC STUDY: The role of language for integration
This publication examines the essential role of language development in promoting inclusion and educational equity in Nordic schools. As classroom diversity increases, students with migrant backgrounds face a heightened risk of falling behind academically, as limited proficiency in the language used in school can restrict their participation in learning and school life.
Integration Norden wants to help stakeholders in the Nordic countries in developing integration initiatives and policies and to work more closely together. The objective is to strengthen the possibilities for refugees and immigrants to become active members of society.
The main categories in the newsletters are current articles, reports/publications, and invitations to conferences/events. We also link to other Nordic news and highlight relevant external events. The newsletter is published six times a year.
